ABOUT US
The DURANE Foundation It is a national non-profit organization, it aims to participate in the areas of humanitarian action and social-economic development of the National territory. it was registered by the Northern departmental directorate of the Ministry of Affairs Social and Labor, at Number: SMO AA290 / ATP on September 16, 2016.

It is official, The Fondation Durane, a grassroots movement to help Haitian women overcome poverty, was granted Special Consultative Status by the ECOSOC at the United Nations. The Fondation uses the Free Market System to achieve sustainable economic development for women in Haiti by enabling them to become financially independent.
The Foundation Durane gives Haitian women the tools to start their own business and become entrepreneurs so that they can create generational wealth and freedom. For example, over 1000 Haitian women have been brought into the banking system by the Fondation Durane’s micro-credit bank. The bank gives these women access to credit and bank loans which helps them move from extreme poverty to prosperity.
Today with the help of the Fondation Durane, the disadvantaged, the unfranchised citizens of Haiti will have a voice and a place at the table of the United Nations to discuss the world's greatest injustice - the severe punishment of the Haitian people when they became the first free democratic black country in the world. Haiti is the Mecca of Black Freedom, and it is now time that the world sees it.
Part of the progressive thinking that Fondation Durane believes in is that when women develop the world transforms. Haiti's past leaders' have damaged the credibility of Haiti, a country that has helped some of the world's greatest powers become wealthy and free. With God's help, Haiti will rise again and his citizens will have the respect of the world community and be part of the decision making process to make the world a better place.
The Fondation Durane would like to remind the world that modern colonization imposed by great powers on small islands like Haiti is a crime against humanity. Several million Haitians were pushed back to extreme poverty due to modern piracy and colonization. It is a disgrace. We should learn to celebrate and treat differences with genuine curiosity and meaningful respect. We must seek a better life for everyone, not just for ourselves. Mankind’s first priority should be fighting poverty, hunger and diseases. We are all children of God.
The Fondation Durane was invited to participate in the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) regarding women and the gender pay gap at the United Nations. The chairwomen of the foundation, Marie Edith Durane, and the President of the foundation, Joel Durane, attended the session and reported that significant investment is required in order to make decisive progress in women and gender equality in Haiti. The chairwomen and president spoke about how rural women are an important agent for economic growth and sustainable development in Haiti. They reaffirmed the need to take concrete measures to ensure that every Haitian women and girl is entitled to participate in, contribute to, and enjoy economic, social, and cultural development, and that equal attention and urgent consideration should be given to the promotion, protection, and full realization of economic and education in the digital age. No rural Haitian should left behind!
